I set this up to share my experiences in web affiliates and affiliate marketing programs.
I started out just casually surfing when an affiliate program, Affiliate Junktion http://affiliatejunktion.directtrack.com/z/5/CD349
caught my eye. I registered and started to do exactly what they wanted me to do. The first few weeks were spent in setting things up. When I was set, I found no hits on my website http://calicutcalling.com
I was averaging less than a hundred hits per day. The first sign ups were naturally friends and relatives. Then I got no further. I scouted around and came across traffic exchange programs. I signed up for a number of them but found that though my web site hits had increased there were no leads coming through. I had to go through 38 signups to complete the setup but I think it was worthwhile. A couple of days later my web site was clocking 1000+ hits per day. I surf around an hour a day and spent another half an hour allocating hits to various sites and programs. After a week my web sites were averaging 3000+ hits per day. Surf mania.
