Hemorrhoids can be broadly classified as external or internal. Bleeding, thrombosed and prolapsed hemorrhoid are further subclasses. The discomfort caused by external hemorrhoid is more compared with internal piles. Both internal and the external type of hemorrhoids are difficult to treat when they are full blown and advanced. Bleeding, thrombosed and prolapsed hemorrhoid require immediate medical attention and this should not be ignored.
